Oil Dedicated to St Catherine of Siena (Patron against Miscarriages) – Christmas Oil
St. Catherine of Siena was born in 1347 in Siena, Italy, and is one of the most influential saints in the Catholic Church. From a young age, Catherine felt a strong calling to serve God, and at the age of 16, she became a member of the Dominican Tertiaries, living a life of prayer, fasting, and devotion to God.
She was known for her deep mystical experiences, including visions and conversations with Christ, as well as her tireless work to bring peace to the Church and to advocate for the poor and sick. St. Catherine played a key role in encouraging the Pope to return to Rome from Avignon, and she wrote numerous letters to church leaders and laypeople, promoting spiritual reform and peace. She was canonized as a saint in 1461 and declared a Doctor of the Church in 1970, one of only four women to receive that honor.
St. Catherine of Siena is sometimes invoked as a patron against miscarriages, as well as for those who struggle with issues related to pregnancy and childbirth. While her connection to this specific patronage isn’t directly linked to her life, her deep compassion and intercession for those suffering in physical and emotional pain make her a powerful advocate for women experiencing miscarriage or infertility.
People turn to St. Catherine for healing, comfort, and protection during pregnancy, asking for her prayers and intercession to carry and protect their unborn children. Her life of faith, service, and devotion to God provides strength and hope for those experiencing the difficulties of loss and fertility issues.
