Oliver’s Story of Hope

Hello, friends!

I just wanted to share the good news about our dog, Spot.

One morning, as usual, we let our dogs out to play. They love to run around and enjoy the fresh air. Later, when we went to feed them, we found Spot lying on the ground, breathing heavily and unable to get up or walk. We were so worried and thought he might not make it.

We immediately called our vet, lifted Spot into the car, and rushed to the clinic, crying all the way because he seemed so weak. When we arrived, we informed the receptionist, and the vet came out right away to check on him. After examining him in the car, the vet helped us carry Spot inside for further tests.

Blood tests revealed that Spot was seriously ill, but the vet needed to run more tests the following day. In the meantime, Spot was put on a drip and strong medication to stabilize him.

The next day, the vet gave us devastating news. Spot had chronic kidney failure and an aggressive cancer in his spleen, the size of a tennis ball. He was in a lot of pain and wouldn’t have long to live. The vet put him on a special diet for his kidneys and sent him home with pain relief and medication. We were told to say our goodbyes and bring him back to be put to sleep.

Hearing this broke our hearts. We couldn’t believe it, as Spot had been so full of energy just days before, running and playing with the other dogs. The diagnosis was Hemangiosarcoma, and it felt like our world had been turned upside down.

Then, a friend told us about A Blessed Call to Love. We reached out to them for help, and they kindly sent us oil dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of animals. We were deeply grateful for their support and guidance.

As soon as the oil arrived, we began to bless Spot and pray the healing prayer to St. Francis of Assisi several times a day, even through the night.

About a week later, Spot developed a severe infection. The vet prescribed a very strong medication, warning us that it might cause his body to feel paralyzed, almost like anesthesia. Despite this, we stayed by his side, loving him, petting him, and keeping him warm under a blanket every night.

After a few weeks, we brought Spot back to the vet for a check-up. New blood tests were done, and to everyone’s amazement, the results came back normal! The vet even remarked that based on Spot’s earlier blood tests, he shouldn’t have survived.

We know that the power of prayer and St. Francis’s oil brought Spot through this ordeal. Praise God, and thank you, St. Francis of Assisi!

It has now been almost 10 months since Spot got sick, and he is looking great and doing well. We are so grateful to A Blessed Call to Love for their support and prayers.

Thank you, St. Francis—we love you!
