Oil Dedicated to Blessed Alicja Kotowska
Blessed Alicja Kotowska, a Polish martyr of the 20th century, lived a life of profound faith, compassionate service, and heroic courage. Born in 1899, she felt God’s call from an early age and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Resurrection. As a religious sister, teacher, and school headmistress, she dedicated her life to nurturing the faith of young people, comforting the suffering, and spreading the hope of Christ in a world overshadowed by conflict and fear.
Her life took a dramatic turn during World War II, when Nazi forces occupied Poland. Refusing to abandon her mission and her people, Sister Alicja remained steadfast, offering spiritual support to those persecuted and suffering under the brutal regime. In 1939, she was arrested by the Gestapo as part of their campaign to destroy the Catholic Church’s influence in Poland. Despite the terror surrounding her, Sister Alicja faced her captors with peace and courage, encouraging others to trust in God’s mercy.
On November 11, 1939, she was executed in the Forest of Piaśnica, alongside hundreds of other innocent victims. She went to her death peacefully, reportedly blessing those who were with her and forgiving her persecutors. Her martyrdom is a shining testimony of the triumph of faith over hatred, and of love over violence.
Our Irish Blessing Oil dedicated to Blessed Alicja Kotowska is prayerfully prepared to honor her witness of fearless love and mercy. Each bottle is accompanied by a prayer card seeking her intercession—for courage in the face of trials, for peace amidst violence, and for strength to stand firm in faith even when the cost is great.
Lovingly prayed over by the team at A Blessed Call to Love. Offer a spiritual reminder of God’s victorious love in the midst of suffering. May it bring comfort, encouragement, and courage to those facing injustice, persecution, or fear.
May the life and martyrdom of Blessed Alicja Kotowska inspire you to stand firm in truth, radiate compassion to all, and entrust your life to the boundless mercy of God, no matter what storms you face.
