Our Lady Undoer of Knots healing oil
The Our Lady undoer of knots healing oil is based on an old tradition in the Catholic Church.
To show us the mission granted to the Virgin Mary by Her Son, an unknown artist painted Mary Undoer of Knots with great grace. Since 1700, his painting has been venerated in the Church of St. Peter in Perlack, Germany. It was originally inspired by a meditation of Saint Irenaeus. It was based on the parallel made by Saint Paul between Adam and Christ. Saint Irenaeus, in turn, made a comparison between Eve and Mary, saying:
“Eve, by her disobedience, tied the knot of disgrace for the human race; whereas Mary, by her obedience, undid it.”
The devotion to Mary, undoer of knots is not new. It is over 300 years old. What are the Knots?
They are the problems and struggles we face for which we do not see any solution.
Knots of discord in family, lack of understanding between parents and children. The disrespect, violence, the knots of deep hurts between husband and wife. The absence of peace and joy at home. They are also the knots of anguish and despair of separated couples. They are the dissolution of the family. In addition, they suffocate the soul, beat us down and betray the heart’s joy and separate us from God.
For that reason, Mary undoes the knots. Moreover, she was chosen by God to crush the evil with Her feet. She comes to us to reveal Herself. Mary comes to provide jobs, good health, to reconcile families. She wants to undo the knots of our sins which dominate our lives. Also, as sons of the King – we can receive the promises reserved for us from eternity. Mary comes with promises of victory, peace, blessings and reconciliation.
Prayer to Our Lady undoer of knots.
Mother Mary, through your grace, your intercession and your example, deliver us from all evil.
Our Lady, untie the knots that prevent us from being united with God.
So that we, free from sin and error, may find him in all things.
May we have our hearts placed in him and may serve him always in our brothers and sisters.

Tradition of oils
The tradition of anointing with sacred oil is very old indeed. It is used in sacraments and also as a devotional practice. The sick person is invited to apply oil on the part of their body they want healed. As they do so, they are asked to pray to whomever the oil is dedicated to. The Irish blessings oils do not have miraculous power. It is God who has the power to heal. Applying the oil while praying are important ways for us to express our faith in God’s power. Moreover, by doing so we place our trust in God.
