Saint Vincent Strambi – Relic Cloth Card

Our set is a beautiful reminder of the deep faith, courage, and commitment to God’s will of St. Vincent Strambi.

Born in 1745 in Civitavecchia, Italy, St. Vincent Strambi was drawn to the religious life from a young age. After being ordained a diocesan priest, he soon felt called to join the Congregation of the Passion (the Passionists), founded by St. Paul of the Cross. Embracing the Passionist life with fervor, he became known for his intense devotion to the Passion of Christ, his love for the poor, and his tireless service as a preacher and confessor.

St. Vincent was renowned for his compassionate spiritual direction, often helping people rediscover their faith through prayer, penance, and reflection on Christ’s sufferings. His sermons were powerful yet humble, rooted deeply in Scripture and the mystery of God’s mercy.

Appointed Bishop of Macerata and Tolentino, he brought reform and renewal to his diocese. He lived simply, refused personal comforts, and led by example, becoming a shepherd who walked closely with his people. Even after resigning from his episcopal duties later in life, he returned to live in community with his fellow Passionists, continuing his mission of prayer and spiritual guidance.

He died in 1824, and was canonized in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. Today, he is remembered not only as a faithful Passionist priest and bishop, but also as a model of humility, zeal, and unwavering devotion to Christ crucified.
