Oil Dedicated to St Apollonia (Patron for Teeth Problems) – Christmas Oil
St. Apollonia was an early Christian martyr who lived in Alexandria, Egypt, during the 3rd century. She was a deaconess in the church and was known for her strong faith and devotion to God. During a time of persecution against Christians, she was arrested by pagan attackers.
To punish her, they attempted to force her to give up her faith by threatening her with pain. They severely injured her teeth, and in the end, she was martyred for refusing to renounce her belief in Jesus. She is often depicted holding a set of pliers, symbolizing the torture she endured involving her teeth.
St. Apollonia is the patron saint of teeth and dental problems. Because of the extreme pain she suffered from the injuries to her teeth, she is invoked by those who experience toothaches, dental surgery, and other oral health issues.
People pray to St. Apollonia for relief from dental pain, protection for their teeth, and healing from oral diseases. Her courage and strong faith in the face of suffering inspire many to endure physical pain with grace and trust in God’s care.
