Oil Dedicated to St Martin de Porres – Christmas Oil
St. Martin de Porres was born in Lima, Peru, in 1579. He was the son of a Spanish nobleman and an African woman, which made him a mixed-race child. Despite facing discrimination because of his race and social status, Martin grew up with a deep love for God and a strong desire to help others.
He entered the Dominican order as a lay brother and spent his life serving the poor and sick. Martin was known for his humility, kindness, and the many miracles attributed to him. He took on the humblest tasks in the community, such as caring for the sick, sweeping the floors, and feeding the poor. His compassion for all people, regardless of their social status, made him widely loved and respected.
St. Martin died in 1639, and he was canonized as a saint in 1962. He is remembered for his deep spirituality, devotion to helping those in need, and his commitment to social justice and racial equality.
