Also known as the “Servant of God” and the “Little Daughter of the Divine Will,” was an Italian mystic and visionary. She was born on April 23, 1865, in Corato, a small town in southern Italy. Luisa grew up in a devout Catholic family and demonstrated a deep spirituality from a young age.
Luisa spent most of her life as a laywoman, living a simple and humble existence. Despite her lack of formal education, her writings and teachings were profound and attracted the attention of several prominent theologians and spiritual directors. She kept a diary, which she referred to as her “Book of Heaven,” where she recorded her mystical experiences, conversations with Jesus, and insights into the Divine Will.
Throughout her life, Luisa endured many trials and sufferings, both physical and spiritual. She remained steadfast in her devotion to God and maintained an unwavering trust in His providence. She offered her sufferings as a means of expiation for the sins of humanity and the salvation of souls.
Luisa’s writings and teachings emphasized the importance of living in continuous union with the Divine Will. Seeking to align one’s thoughts, words, and actions with God’s desires. She believed that this intimate union would lead to the restoration of divine order on Earth. And the fulfillment of God’s original plan for creation.
Luisa Piccarreta passed away on March 4, 1947, in her hometown of Corato. Her cause for beatification opened in 1994, and she declared a Servant of God by the Catholic Church. Her life and teachings continue to inspire many believers and devotees. Who seek to deepen their relationship with God and live in accordance with His Divine Will.
