Saint Angela Merici, known as the patron saint for courage, was a devout Italian religious educator and foundress. She was born in Desenzano del Garda, Italy, in 1474. From a young age, Angela displayed a deep spirituality and an unwavering commitment to her faith.
Angela dedicated her life to the education and spiritual development of young girls and women. In the early 16th century, she founded the Company of St. Ursula, also known as the Ursuline Sisters. This was a groundbreaking religious order focused on providing education to girls and offering them guidance in their spiritual lives.
