Oil Dedicated to St Francis Xavier 3 (Patron for Apostleship of Prayer)

St Francis Xavier 3 (Patron for Apostleship of Prayer) from A Blessed Call To Love, Ireland.

Saint Francis Xavier, known as the Patron Saint of the Apostleship of Prayer, was a renowned Spanish Jesuit missionary and one of the most influential figures in the spread of Christianity during the 16th century. Born on April 7, 1506, in the Kingdom of Navarre (now part of Spain), he dedicated his life to evangelization and played a pivotal role in the early Jesuit missions.

After completing his studies at the University of Paris, Xavier met St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), and was deeply inspired by his vision. In 1537, he became one of the seven founding members of the Society and embarked on a mission to bring Christianity to the Far East.

Setting sail in 1541, Xavier traveled extensively, reaching various regions such as India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan. With unwavering determination and a profound commitment to his faith, he preached the Gospel, established schools and hospitals, and baptized thousands of people.

Despite facing numerous challenges and encountering resistance. Xavier continued his missionary work, never losing sight of his mission to bring the light of Christ. To those who had not yet heard the Good News. He died on December 3, 1552, on the Chinese island of Shangchuan, while waiting to gain entry into mainland China.

St. Francis Xavier’s legacy lives on as an emblem of selfless service and unwavering faith. His contributions to the Apostleship of Prayer. An organization that encourages daily prayer and offering of intentions for the Church and the world. Led to his recognition as its patron saint. His canonization in 1622 by Pope Gregory XV further solidified his status. As a revered saint and a shining example of missionary zeal.

Today, St. Francis Xavier continues to inspire countless individuals. With his passion for spreading the Gospel and his deep compassion for the marginalized and oppressed. His life serves as a reminder of the transformative power of faith. And the enduring impact of one person’s commitment to a higher calling.
