Oil Dedicated to St Nicholas of Tolentine (Patron for Sick Animals)

St Nicholas of Tolentine (Patron for Sick Animals) from A Blessed Call To Love, Ireland.

Saint Nicholas of Tolentine was an Italian Catholic priest born in Sant’Angelo, Italy, in 1245. He is also known as Saint Nicholas of Tolentino. He is revered for his austere lifestyle, piety, and numerous miracles.

Nicholas entered the Order of Hermits of St. Augustine when he was just 18 years old. He studied theology and was ordained a priest at the age of 25. He then began his ministry as a preacher, and his sermons became very popular because of their simplicity and sincerity.

Nicholas was known for his self-discipline and asceticism. He fasted regularly and often slept on the ground. He was also devoted to prayer and meditation, and he spent many hours each day in contemplation.

In addition to his preaching and spiritual practices, Nicholas was also known for his charitable work. He founded a hospital for the sick and a home for the aged, and he worked tirelessly to help the poor and needy.

Nicholas is particularly famous for his miracles. He was said to have healed the sick, cast out demons, and even raised the dead. One of his most famous miracles occurred during a severe drought when he prayed for rain and it immediately began to pour.

Nicholas died on September 10, 1305, in Tolentino, Italy. He was canonized by Pope Eugene IV in 1446. His feast day is celebrated on September 10, the day of his death.

Saint Nicholas of Tolentine is remembered for his humility, piety, and devotion to God. He is a model of holiness for all Catholics, and his life serves as an inspiration to those who seek to live a life of service and faith.
