He is considered the patron saint invoked against bone diseases and is particularly revered in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of northern Italy, where he is the patron saint of the Non Valley (Val di Non) and the town of Sanzeno. Early Life: Saint Romedio was born in the 9th century in the region of Tyrol, which is now part of modern-day Italy. He came from a noble family but chose a life of asceticism and solitude.

Conversion and Pilgrimage: After the death of his parents, Romedio renounced his worldly possessions and began a life of pilgrimage and prayer. He made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and later decided to live as a hermit.

Hermitage in the Non Valley: Romedio found a secluded spot in the Non Valley, near the town of Sanzeno, where he built a hermitage in the rocks of a steep mountain. Legend has it that he miraculously transported to this location by an angel.

Life as a Hermit: Romedio spent many years in this remote hermitage, living a life of extreme asceticism and devotion. He known for his austere lifestyle, prayer, and care for the local animals.

Miracles: Many miraculous events attributed to Saint Romedio during his time as a hermit. Including the healing of various illnesses and ailments. This is why he particularly invoked against bone diseases.

Death and Legacy: Saint Romedio died in his hermitage on June 19, 1040. After his death, his hermitage became a place of pilgrimage, and a church built at the site in his honor. The hermitage and the church still exist today and are important pilgrimage sites in the region.

Feast Day: The feast day of Saint Romedio celebrated on June 19th each year.

Saint Romedio’s life and example of devout asceticism have made him a revered figure in the Catholic Church. Especially in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. His association with the healing of bone diseases has led many people to seek his intercession. In times of illness and suffering.
