Description

Oil Dedicated to St Oliver Plunkett (Patron for Peace and Reconciliation)

The Irish Blessing Oils St Oliver Plunkett the last Catholic priest to be martyred in England is one of our most popular Irish Blessing Oils.  If you check out our testimonies page you will find accounts of many people who have been helped through these oils.  He is  a most powerful mediator for our modern times.  As the patron saint of Peace and Reconciliation he is a very appropiate saint to invoke a blessing on Ireland at this time.

St. Oliver Plunkett, born in 1625 in County Meath, Ireland, a revered figure in Irish Catholic history. He educated in Rome and later ordained as a priest. Plunkett’s life unfolded during a tumultuous period in Ireland when Catholicism faced persecution under English rule.

In 1669, he appointed Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, a position he accepted with dedication and courage. Plunkett worked tirelessly to protect and preserve the Catholic faith in a hostile environment. Despite constant threats to his life, he traveled clandestinely throughout Ireland, ministering to his flock, ordaining priests, and strengthening the Catholic Church.

Plunkett’s peaceful efforts for religious freedom met with suspicion by English authorities, who viewed him as a threat. In 1679, he falsely accused of conspiring to overthrow the English government and plotting with foreign powers. He arrested, imprisoned, and subjected to a sham trial.
