Mother Teresita of the Child Jesus, in the world Felisa Pérez de Iriarte y Casado, daughter of Gumersindo and Magdalena, was born on May 2, 1904, in the small Navarrese village of Eslava, into a simple and humble family of farmers, deeply Christian.
She was the youngest of 5 siblings. The day after her birth she received Holy Baptism, being confirmed in the faith on the 10th of the same month and year.
He was barely two years old when the family moved to Tafalla where his father was going to take over the farm of a local gentleman, which would make it easier to meet the needs of a large family. A lively and lively child, she attracted her attention because of her intelligence, sympathy and deep life of piety. She was very sensitive to the needs of others.
Upon reaching school age, she entered the Colegio de las Hijas de la Cruz, where she made her First Communion on November 21, 1911. She confessed to the Frs. Piarists, especially with Fr. Beltrán, a mystic.
